Medical Assistant (MA) is one of the most versatile fields one may pursue as a medical career. Medical Assistants are the "utility players" in any health care setting. They do everything from administrative work such as patient reception and admission, scheduling and answering the phone to more clinical duties such as drawing and preparing samples for testing, administering injections, removing suture and checking vital signs. They also collect medical histories and file insurance claims.

Medical Assistants are responsible for putting patients at ease.

Medical Assistants have become more popular to a health care team because of this plethora of responsibilities and abilities.

We want our Concorde MA students to know about all the opportunities available to them in this growing field. We researched a little information compiled by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) for the latest updates.

Medical Assistants remain in high demand

Job opportunities for Medical Assistants are projected to increase substantially for many years to come, according to the BLS. There is a greater demand for MAs in different areas of medicine as the U.S. population ages and grows. Medical Assistants seek job opportunities in an assortment of health care facilities. They include physician offices, hospitals, urgent care centers, medical laboratories, long-term care facilities, and assisted-living facilities.
