March for Babies Event in Memphis

Students, faculty, and staff from Concorde's campus in Memphis, Tenn. spent their Saturday morning marching for the future of healthy babies. They participated in the March for Babies, an annual fundraiser for the March of Dimes. It was the eighth consecutive year that the health care career college participated in the fundraiser.

The March of Dimes March for Babies helps mothers have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies. It researches the problems that threaten babies and works on preventing them. If something does go wrong, the March of Dimes offers information and comfort to families. Nearly four million babies are born annually in the U.S., and money raised by activities like this serves as a lifeline for babies struggling in neonatal intensive care units around the country, connecting them with critical treatments and care they desperately need.

"The research funding will help every mom and every baby for generations to come," said Sheneka Gorman, Student Services Advisor at Concorde - Memphis, a health care career college. "I walk in the March for Babies to help fight prematurity so more babies can get the strongest start possible."

In all, Concorde - Memphis had 41 walkers participate and raised $1,112.40.

Concorde's campus in Southaven, Miss. also participated in a separate March for Babies fundraiser.
