Here's yet more good news for students of Concorde Career Colleges. One of the world's foremost publications, U.S. News and World Report, recently published its list of the top 25 health care support jobs, and many of the programs offered at Concorde made the list.
And, yet more good news, according to the report, the health care support field is predicted to be one of the fastest-growing job segments over the next decade, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), with a 23 percent increase, or about 974,000 new jobs.
Here's a quick look at jobs on the list in which Concorde offers degree or diploma programs, along with those jobs' rankings on the list.

No. 2: Dental Hygienist- This position, which works alongside dentists, cleaning patients' teeth and taking X-rays, is expected to increase by 37,400 new jobs over the next decade. Prospective employers are placing an increased value on the role of dental hygienists as preventive care educators and patient advocates.
No. 4: Physical Therapist Assistant- Job opportunities for physical therapy assistants are expected to grow by approximately 31,900 new jobs by 2024, according to the BLS.
No. 8: Massage Therapist - The general public is becoming more educated about the benefits of regular massages. In turn, the BLS expects 36,500 new positions between 2014 and 2024, an increase of about 22 percent - much higher than the average outlook for all jobs.
No. 16: Licensed Practical and Licensed Vocational Nurse- Basic medical care is essential and licensed practical and vocational nurses provide this care under the guidance of registered nurses and doctors.
Duties include monitoring patients' health, offering basic patient care and comfort, discussing care with patients and reporting patients' health status and concerns to appropriate nurses and doctors. The BLS predicts a 16 percent growth in employment by 2024.
No. 17: Dental Assistant- As more Americans gain access to health care and are able to regularly see dentists, the demand for qualified dental assistants will continue to grow. The BLS predicts 58,600 new jobs from 2014-2024. Check out our page if you're wondering how to become a dental assistant.
No. 20: Medical Assistant- A medical assistant measures your vital signs, administers injections or medications and schedules appointments. These professionals also prepare blood samples for lab tests, record patient histories and enter information into medical records. Medical assistants will see a 23 percent increase in new jobs through 2024, according to the BLS, which is much higher than the average for all jobs and translates to 138,900 new positions.
No. 24: Surgical Technologist- A surgical technologist aids surgeons in a variety of areas, including sterilizing the operating room and utensils before surgery, as well as assisting surgeons with the scalpel and suction during surgery. From 2014-2024, the BLS expects the field to grow by 15 percent.
