The Primary Duties of a Massage Therapist Include:

  • Talk with clients about why they are seeking a massage.
  • Evaluate clients for problem spots, such as particularly tender areas, injuries, etc.
  • Provide advice about stretching and strengthening affected areas post-massage.
  • Using massage techniques on muscles and other body parts.
  • Track client progress and make observations about conditions.

Curriculum

The massage therapy program teaches essential health science knowledge, including anatomy and physiology.

Students also explore different massage techniques, learning how and when they can be safely applied to different types of clients.

An externship is part of the program, along with a course covering business considerations for students who are interested in going into business for themselves.
