Smile Brands is making a charitable contribution to be used as the Smile Brands - Dental Hygiene Scholarship for the Dental Hygiene (DH) program at Concorde Career Colleges, Inc. Smile Brands will make a contribution of $3,750 to be split between 3 Concorde campuses, and awarded by Smile Brands at their discretion.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

The Smile Brands scholarship is available to current Concorde Dental Hygiene students at the Concorde Garden Grove, San Antonio and one Florida Campus TBD by the Organization. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on the following criteria.

  1. Must be currently enrolled in an accredited dental hygiene program and in at least the second year of school.
  2. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  3. Applicant to submit form https://forms.office.com/r/0xZKXWkj8n to include the following  information:
    1. Answering the questions below or providing a link to a video sharing platform (i.e. YouTube, Vimeo, drop box, etc.) that answers the questions below. Video should be publicly accessible or a password to the video should be included. Video should be no more than 3-5 minutes long.
      1. What is your motivation for pursuing a career in dental hygiene?
      2. How do you plan to make a positive impact in the dental hygiene field?
      3. Share any personal experiences or challenges that have influenced your career choice.
      4. Email a copy of the official or unofficial academic transcript showing current enrollment and GPA to careers@smilebrands.com
      5. Optionally, a personal statement may be included (500 words max) detailing any additional  information you wish to share with the selection committee.
Scholarship Award and Distribution

The aggregate amount of the scholarships will be invoiced to Smile Brands within 10 days of notification to Concorde of Smile Brands selection of the scholarship recipients. This amount will be due within 30 days of invoice. This amount can be paid via check or EFT.

Scholarship winner(s) will be notified after Concorde’s receipt of payment by Smile Brands and payment of scholarship amounts will be allocated to student account(s).

$1,250 will be applied to each selected recipient’s student account to assist with tuition. Should any recipient owe less than the amount of the scholarship to Concorde, or should such student leave the program prior to exhausting the full amount of the scholarship, Concorde will be required to return any remaining scholarship balance to Smile Brands.

  1. Program length may be subject to change dependent on transfer credits and course load. Please refer to current course catalog for more information. Concorde does not guarantee admittance, graduation, subsequent employment or salary amount.

  2. Professional certification is not a requirement for graduation, may not be a requirement for employment nor does it guarantee employment.

  3. Financial aid is available to those who qualify but may not be available for all programs. Concorde does not guarantee financial aid or scholarship awards or amounts.

  4. Clinical hour requirements and delivery may vary by campus location and may be subject to change. Concorde does not guarantee clinical site assignments based upon student preference or geographic convenience; nor do clinical experiences guarantee graduation, post-clinical employment or salary outcomes.

  5. Registration and certification requirements for taking and passing these examinations are not controlled by Concorde, but by outside agencies, and are subject to change by the agency without notice. Therefore, Concorde cannot guarantee that graduates will be eligible to take these exams, at all or at any specific time, regardless of their eligibility status upon enrollment.

  6. Externships are a non-paid in-person learning experience, whose length and location may be subject to change. Concorde does not guarantee externship placement, graduation, post-externship employment or salary outcomes.
