The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projects that health care support occupations are projected to increase 28.1 percent from 2012 to 2022, the fastest growth of any major occupational group.

Much like the health care practitioners group, according to the BLS, more than half of job openings leading to a career in health care support occupations are expected to be a result of new jobs rather than of openings resulting from replacement needs.
